Liposarcoma Stories

How were you affected by this cancer?

My sister Jessica Wang was Diagnosed with Liposcarcoma on October 2009 and died from it Feb 22nd 2011.

Because of my sister’s liposcaromca case is so rare and so evil, I wanted to search for others that shares the same type of cancer as my sister. To maybe read about them or help them if i can in a way. I came across Wendy Walk’s website (one of the only few Liposcarcoma sites) and was so touched with Wendy’s story and also the love of her kids and family to set up this foundation to raise money for more research for this cancer.

I wanted to attend the WENDY WALK to be apart of the WILL to fight cancer. To be with people that shares the pain, the heart for their love ones and the support for Wendy herself. I felt so honor to be apart of group that day and I also had a chance to speak to Wendy to let her know to be strong and continue this battle. She will WIN!

I felt great! my cousins came to support me and friends all walked with me. Losing my sister is a life changing experience. I miss her so much but I know every step I take she’s with me, as an angel and guiding me through my life. I promised her that I will do all I can to be a good person and help others in need. To be strong and brave for her.

How are you affected by Liposarcoma?

My mother was diagnosed with Liposarcoma 11 years ago and has had 3 reoccurances since.

How did the walks make you feel?

I participated in the New York City walk. It was a great day that helped to bring awareness to a very rare form of cancer that is often overlooked. It was an amazing feeling to know that I was walking for a cause and giving towards finding a cure.
